Bayonetta 2 Developers Exclusivity Criticism Response

IGN has an article looking at Platinum Games’ response to the Wii U exclusivity criticism for Bayonetta 2. A lot of fans of the first game have been taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations over this matter. Their rationale is that since the first Bayonetta was not even on a Nintendo system, why should the sequel be exclusive? IGN speculates that Nintendo picked up the game after Sega dropped it and thus it was made Wii U exclusive. So it appears those fans need to yell at Sega if anyone. Check out the IGN article for more info.

Rumor: New PS3 Model Coming In October?

According to an article posted on Computer & Video Games, a German online retailer has claimed on Facebook that a new PS3 SKU will be release next month that offers 12GB of flash memory. Sony denied the rumor via German PR chief Guido Alt who told CVG “he knew nothing of the existence of such a console.”

More Info From CVG:

“In July it emerged that Sony Computer Entertainment had submitted what appear to be plans for a new PS3 model to the Federal Communications Commission.

Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter said in a research note released last night that Sony looks to be preparing to introduce new hardware.

“The PlayStation 3 160 GB plus Move bundle debuted at $299 in 2010, two full years ahead of Wii U’s debut. It is worth noting that PlayStation 3 160 GB plus Move bundles have disappeared off of many retailer shelves, suggesting to us that Sony is starving the channel ahead of a new hardware introduction that would likely cost less than Wii U’s Basic Set.

“We can only speculate that Sony will offer a PS3 without a hard drive at a price point below $200, and we expect a PS3/Move bundle at the $249 price point in the next several weeks.””

Wii U Deluxe Set’s Nintendo Land To Be Physical Disc (Not Digital)

Wii U Deluxe Sets Nintendo Land To Be Physical Disc (Not Digital)

GoNintendo is reporting that the pack-in game for the Wii U Deluxe Set, Nintendo Land, will be a physical disc, not a digital pre-install on the console. No word yet on whether it will be a paper sleeve, actual case, or what kind of packaging it might have. Wii Sports was a paper/cardboard sleeve, so it wouldn’t be too surprising for Nintendo to go that route. Of course you can always buy a physical case separately and print up your own cover for it if that kind of thing matters to you.
