Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – More Details

assassins creed iv black flag logo Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag More Details

Lead scriptwriter for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Darby McDevitt recently spoke with Polygon about the game. McDevitt says that the game will be a story of immorality and repentance. Edward Kenway is a married man and he has relationships with other women while his relationship with his wife is less than perfect. McDevitt says:

“Edward Kenway is a raucous and bawdy chap, but he’s also a married man, and one of his primary motivation in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is to get rich and prove himself a ‘man of quality’ to his family and betters. So there is a special woman in Edward’s life, but there are also other not-so-special women as well.”

In Black Flag you will be able to manipulate certain NPCs to help achieve goals just like in previous Assassin’s Creed titles. Some female NPCs for example can be made to seduce and distract your target. Unfortunately those of you who might be looking for a choose your own adventure type of experience may be disappointed as Black Flag is still pre-scripted. You can’t choose which women to have a relationship with for example. While Kenway’s relationship with his wife is part of the core of the game, he will have relationships with other women as well such as Anne Bonny.

Templars are back in this game as well as one would expect, but further details have not yet been shared. Other than they will consist of members from three different empires.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is scheduled to be released on October 29th for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360. You can pre-order the game through Amazon in the GameSaga Mega Store and help support the site as well by clicking here.

You can pick up a Wii U Basic Set for £149 or a Wii U Premium Set for £199 at Asda, but the Premium Set is currently out of stock on Asda’s site. Rumor – Nintendo Planning For Big 2nd Half of 2013 For Wii U

wii u logo Rumor Nintendo Planning For Big 2nd Half of 2013 For Wii U
According to CVG, Nintendo is planning to release their new 3D Mario platformer, tentatively called Super Mario U by October of this year. The game is expected to be playable at this year’s E3 event as well. Nintendo is also apparently planning to do a sort of “re-launch” for the Wii U, by putting forth more of an effort with marketing of the system and releasing more big name first party titles to supplement the Wii U’s admittedly lackluster library. One source claimed that the lack of promotion on Nintendo’s part is because they didn’t want to promote it as heavily before the Spring update was released as word-of-mouth had complained quite a bit about system loading times. Another source claimed Nintendo was intentionally holding back some games to bolster the 2nd half lineup, games such as Pikmin 3, Wii Fit U, and The Wonderful 101, though another source said that wasn’t the case. Shelly Pearce, PR director at Nintendo UK, told CVG:

“From July onwards we will launch a succession of Wii U titles and we will promote these extensively until the end of the year. Marketing activity will include TV, print, online and PR as well as comprehensive experiential and social media campaigns We have a strong line up planned for Wii U in the second half of 2013 including the likes of Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Wii U.”

Hopefully Nintendo has learned from previous years and will do something to wow their core audience at E3 this year. Nintendo really needs to hit a home run for this year to gain some traction with Wii U. Along the same lines they need to tease some games for next year as well which in recent years, Nintendo has shied away from doing.
