As you can see above, Namco Bandai Games has announced the Japanese release date for the 3DS version of One Piece: Romance Dawn. It will be releasing over there on August 8th. This is a port of the 2012 PSP title, which will probably have some enhanced features to take advantage of the 3DS.

nintendo download europe Europe Nintendo Download For May 27th, 2013

There’s a slightly different format to the Nintendo Download for Europe this week due to a bank holiday in the UK. Normally Nintendo puts out their press releases through their UK office, but I’m assuming they are closed today because of the bank holiday. We’ll update this post if further information becomes available.

Miiverse Mania – May 27th, 2013

miiverse logo Miiverse Mania May 27th, 2013

This week on the Wii U’s Miiverse, we have several new communities that popped up for recent releases. There’s one for Fast & Furious Showdown, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Sniper Elite V2, Kirby Super Star, & Kirby’s Dream Course. The latter two of course are for the Virtual Console titles that just released last week.

And below we have some of our favorite artwork from around the Miiverse:

Be sure to check out ONM at the link below for a whole lot more Miiverse art. There’s a lot of super talented people on the Wii U’s version of social networking and I’m more and more impressed each day with the different drawings that are posted.

More Disappointing Xbox One News

xbox one logo 2 More Disappointing Xbox One News

When it rains it pours it seems when it comes to Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One console. News has come out that the system will be region locked. While this isn’t too terribly surprising as this is a fairly common occurrence in the video game industry, it still can be seen as just piling on with bad news on the 8th generation hardware. The system hasn’t even released yet and we’re already seeing report after report of how Microsoft appears to be trying to intentionally alienate gamers. So if you were hoping to maybe import some games for the system that don’t release in your region then you’re out of luck unless you get a second console from that region as well.

1986

  • Dragon Quest is released by Chunsoft & Enix for the Famicom in Japan. Dragon Quest would later become inspiration for many future RPGs and some would consider it to be the “Father of Console RPGs.” This title would spawn a long-running franchise for Enix (now known as Square Enix) and would sell millions in Japan alone. The games are so popular in Japan that many players take the release day off from work or school as a holiday to simply purchase and play the game.

1994

  • Mortal Kombat is released by Midway & Acclaim for the Genesis in Japan. The game would spawn numerous sequels and become embroiled in massive controversies surrounding its portrayal of violence and gore and lead to the establishment of the ESRB in North America. The ESRB would in turn lead to the formation of CERO in Japan in 2002, many years after Mortal Kombat was originally released. Sega however had the VRC already established in the year prior to rate games for their platforms.

Random Game Facts – Link Training In Majora’s Mask

majoras mask fact Random Game Facts Link Training In Majoras Mask

It’s too bad they cut these scenes from Majora’s Mask. It would make sense to have Link require training to use items or abilities as how would he just magically know how to use these things? I guess you have to suspend your disbelief when you play video games sometimes. It’s the same concept with how he manages to carry all those items in just some pockets.
