Random Game Facts – NBA Jam Mortal Kombat Edition?

Wow, this is pretty wild. I guess it’s not too surprising though given that Midway owned both properties at the time. Nowadays this would be less likely to happen since NBA Jam is owned by Electronic Arts and Mortal Kombat is owned by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. But who know? Maybe they’ll get together and do a crossover in the future. I mean we did get DC Comics characters in an MK game, so anything is possible.

Yesterday’s Recap – April 30th, 2013

gamesaga yesterdays recap logo Yesterdays Recap April 30th, 2013

Yesterday we had some new trailers including 3 from Grand Theft Auto V, some more screenshots for the newest Atelier title, Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemist of Dusk Sky, a European release date and price for the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Blade Wolf DLC, an apparent confirmation that Call of Duty: Ghosts is the next Call of Duty title along with a release date for the game, and more.

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to post anything yesterday evening. Allergies were doing a number on me and I fell asleep early.

I did however, start work on our 2nd video project. It’s going to be a Let’s Play for the SNES classic Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger was one of my favorite games from that era and it still holds up really well in my opinion. One of the first games I can remember that featured the ability to start a new game with all of your stuff intact basically. Of course I’m talking about CT’s New Game+ feature, which you could access after completing the game. In New Game+ you start with the same character levels, techniques, and equipment you had before completing the game, but you do not keep your gold or story-based items. It was a pretty neat idea and a relatively novel one at the time. And you were encouraged to try it out because Chrono Trigger features multiple endings as well. The only way to see them all back then was to play through the game until you reached the correct point and then trigger the ending sequence. I haven’t decided whether I’ll just do the main ending or try to do multiple ones. We’ll see.

We also introduced a new feature on the site called Free Deals. Whenever you see these posted, you’ll be able to score something for free in the deal mentioned. Yesterday’s was about a promotion for Xbox Live Gold that Microsoft is having in the UK. If you’re an Xbox Live Silver member you can try out Xbox Live Gold for free this weekend over in the UK.
