Guess The System, Game, or Character – Week 1

Today we are launching a brand new feature on GameSaga. It’s called Guess The System, Game, or Character. Each week we’ll post a different video game system, game, or character and shroud it in darkness. Your job is to guess which system or game it is. Systems & characters will just show a silhouette. Games will show a silhouette and also provide one or two details about the game (as game boxes/carts/discs look too similar to use just a silhouette). We may also include leaderboards with this feature so you can track your score & progress and compete with other readers. Scoring will be as follows:

  • First Correct Guess: 10 Points
  • Other Correct Guesses: 1 Point
  • Incorrect Guess: 0 Points
Scoring will run for the entire week and end at 12:00 AM Eastern each Sunday. You can make your guesses by posting a comment on each week’s post, posting on our Facebook or Twitter pages, e-mail them to us, or post them in the forum. With that in mind here is this week’s Guess The System, Game, or Character:

Let’s Play Chrono Trigger SNES – Part 1

I went back and replayed and re-recorded Part 1 of our Let’s Play series for Chrono Trigger. Here is the video for that. Correction: An earlier version of this article stated that The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages was for the Wii U Virtual Console. That was a typo on our part. The game was released on the 3DS Virtual Console. There is no Wii U version thus far.

Vooks has a review up for the 3DS Virtual Console version of The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. Here’s a portion of the review:

“Ages begins with Link being transported to a forest in Labrynna following a calling from the triforce, where the Oracle of Ages (hey, that’s the name of the game!), Nayru, is soon possessed and subsequently captured by Veran, the Sorceress of Shadows. Her abduction sparks an interference in the flow of time throughout Labrynna, and Link is soon tasked with collecting the 8 Essences of Time in order to defeat Veran, rescue Nayru, and effectively restore the flow of time to the land. ONM Preview – LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (Multi-Platform)

Official Nintendo Magazine has posted a preview for TT Games’ & Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s newest LEGO game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. The game is scheduled to be released in either Q3 or Q4 of this year for PC, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, & Wii U. Here’s part of the preview:

“LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be Traveller’s Tales’ first foray into the Marvel universe. The story – which takes place after the events of the Joss Whedon Avengers movie – opens with an imprisoned Loki striking a deal with an as-yet unnamed villain to thwart his captors. Meanwhile, the hungry planet-devouring Galactus draws ever closer, hungrily eyeing the Earth like it was the galaxy’s largest Malteser.” - Olivia Cottrell, Official Nintendo Magazine

Rumor – Final Fantasy Coming To The PlayStation 4?

Some sort of Final Fantasy game has been listed as coming to the PlayStation 4 as seen in this screen capture from the Amazon France website. It could be a port of the original or it could be something entirely new. Maybe we’ll find out at E3?
