Random Game Facts – The Legend of Zelda Title Screen

Well that would’ve been different for sure. Maybe that is where they got inspiration for Bolero of Fire in Ocarina of Time? And of course as we all, Kondo-san’s work is legendary in the industry and he will go down as one of the greatest composers in the history of gaming without a doubt. Amazing he composed such a memorable tune in only a day.

Site Update – October 24th, 2013

Hello everyone,

Sorry about the lack of updates here lately. I had been spending a good bit of time on a project that will help me with the site and getting the This Day In Gaming History features posted more quickly. Those normally take between 1-2 hours each to complete, when this project is done it shouldn’t take me more than 10-20 minutes to complete one. I also had family in town for a few days and then spent time playing some video games to unwind as I’ve been pretty busy at my day job lately with lots of paperwork. Anyways, I am going to get back to updating starting this evening hopefully. I’d love to post more often if I could but sometimes life doesn’t allow me to. Thanks for sticking with us and putting up with the delays.

GamesIndustry International Interview – Shuhei Yoshida Talks Last Guardian

Sony Worldwide Studios head honcho Shuhei Yoshida recently sat down with GamesIndustry International to discuss a variety of Sony related topics. At the end of the interview, Yoshida-san is asked about The Last Guardian, which has seemingly become vaporware. He says that the team is currently working on the game and it was never actually on hiatus. He also states that he can’t share which platform(s) the game will appear on. However, given that the PS4 is just around the corner, it seems likely that the game is being pushed to that console. Yoshida-san himself even says that the team is re-engineering the game which to me smells like a switch of platforms from PS3 to PS4, but that’s just speculation my part.

Battlefield: Bad Company Will Return Sometime

For those of you looking for another entry in the Battlefield: Bad Company series, you’ll be happy to hear that it will seemingly be returning “soon.” Lars Gustavsson Creative Director at DICE said: “My feeling is that I would love to do it. For me, when we started the company with 1942, it was really a work of passion. And then we worked our way through the era of different wars, and I loved them all, like my little babies. When it came to Bad Company, it was creative freedom; don’t take yourself too seriously.” Currently, however, DICE is tied up with Battlefield 4, the new Mirror’s Edge game, and Star Wars: Battlefront.

Pokémon X & Y (3DS) – Nintendo Shuts Down Leaker

Nintendo acted swiftly to stop leaks for the upcoming 3DS titles Pokémon X and Y games which are releasing on October 12th. Yesterday an Instagram user named kosthedin had posted several images leaked from the game. Apparently they purchased the game from a store which broke the street date. He says that Nintendo flew a rep out to the store where he purchased the game and he gave up his copy of the game to try to keep the store and his friend out of trouble. According to Kotaku, Nintendo is doing the first ever worldwide release for the series in an effort to let players around the world discover things as they play it rather than months or years ahead of time from the first release (usually the Japanese release). Still even with this leak apparently stopped, the game comes out in just over a week, so the info will be all over the web by then most likely.

First PS4 Trophy List Revealed

The first trophy list for the PS4 has been revealed by eXophase. It appears to be for something called Tutorial Shooting Game. Is this an actual game? A test by Sony? I guess we’ll know by November when the system releases. This “game” features exciting trophy names like Gold Trophy. You can get one by winning the game among 4 players in a multiplayer game.
