Pokémon X and Y (3DS) – New Mega Charizard Unveiled

Nintendo has unveiled a new Mega Evolution for Charizard which is called Mega Charizard X. Apparently Charizard will be able to evolve in either the previously announced version, Mega Charizard Y, (which looks nearly identical to original Charizard) in Pokémon Y or he can evolve into Mega Charizard X in Pokémon X. You can check out a brief trailer below:

And here’s the full details courtesy of AllGamesBeta:

“Last month it was revealed that fan favorite, Charizard, can achieve Mega Evolution, an extremely powerful form that only certain Pokémon can access during battles in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games, which launch worldwide October 12 for the Nintendo 3DS. It is now known that Charizard can Mega Evolve into either Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y, depending on which Mega Stone Charizard holds—Charizardite X or Charizardite Y. When Charizard Mega Evolves into Mega Charizard X, its body turns black and its flames burn blue with increased heat. It also changes types when it Mega Evolves, changing from Fire- and Flying-type to Fire- and Dragon-type!

The previously announced Mega Charizard is in fact Mega Charizard Y. Players will need to obtain Charizardite Y in Pokémon Y in order to Mega Evolve Charizard into Mega Charizard Y. Mega Charizard Y’s Sp. Attack increases significantly, and its Ability changes to Drought, increasing the power of Fire-type moves. Mega Charizard Y can learn the Fire-type move Blast Burn which becomes even more powerful with the effect of the Drought Ability.

Mega Charizard X is being introduced for the first time today. Players can obtain Charizardite X in Pokémon X and Mega Evolve Charizard into Mega Charizard X. Mega Charizard X’s Attack increases significantly and its Ability also changes to Tough Claws, which raises the power of moves that make direct contact. This Ability comes in handy when Mega Charizard X learns the Dragon-type move Dragon Tail which can force an opposing Pokémon to switch out during battle while also dealing damage.”

It looks like Namco Bandai may have another Soul Calibur game or perhaps another Soul Calibur related project in the works. They have filed a trademark in Europe for something called Soul Calibur: Unbreakable Soul as seen in the image below. No word on a release date or what platforms it might come out for just yet.

Site Update – October 2nd, 2013

Hello All,

This is GameSaga here with an update on the state of game-saga.com. First off let me start off by apologizing for the lack of updates the past few months. As some of you may know, I have a full-time job that occupies a lot of my time. Unfortunately at the beginning of August, one of my co-workers quit and now I do half of his job as well as my own. As such I haven’t been able to update during the day. I was going to try to do updates in the evening but have been too exhausted to do so. I realize this situation is not ideal. Ideally, I’d like to work on the site full-time but unfortunately bills do not pay themselves.

All of that being said, I am going to start making a more concerted effort to at least post a little bit each evening. Weekends I will be able to post more hopefully, assuming there are things to post. The podcast will return soon-ish, probably not this weekend, but hopefully the following one. The forums were updated manually and was very time-consuming to update. On top of that the host decided to make them pay-only so we’re going to try to find a new host for forums and hopefully find a way to get blog posts automatically posted on the forums for discussion amongst anyone who wants to discuss said posts. Other features we have had here like Yesterday’s Recap, Random Game Facts, This Day In Gaming History, Morning/Afternoon/Evening LOL, Top Storitorial, etc., will all return at some point. Obviously with most posting being done in the evening for the time being, these things will be posted during that time period and not in the morning like they had been previously. Let’s Play Videos will return eventually. The only time I’ll have to really record/edit them is on the weekends, so it might be an every other week or maybe once a month type thing.

To those of you who have stuck with us during this unexpected and extended downtime, thank you. We would not have much of a site without you all, the readers. To those of you who are just finding us, welcome, thank you for visiting, and we hope you enjoy your time here and invite you to participate in our comments section for any post that interests you and follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook. To those of you who have given up on us due to the downtime, we humbly apologize and hope we can get you to come back one day and rediscover the site and the great content we bring you from around the web and the world of video games.

Our goal has always to been to provide as much video game coverage as possible for all platforms from a variety of sources. We will strive to achieve this goal day in and day out and hope you’ll continue to check us out. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and for your support. Thank you for reading and without further ado, let’s get to playing some games and posting about them!
