This is a prime example of why I personally think microtransactions are stupid. Yes I get that they make more money for the publishers/developers, but it screws over the player of the games. A game already costs $60, why should we have to pay $200+ more to experience the “full” game? That’s ridiculously overpriced and is approaching Photoshop or Office levels of overpricing stupidity. I don’t have a problem with paying the $60 for a game even though personally I think $50 is the most any game should cost, but $200+? That’s just nonsense. Maybe if the game were a rare collectible or signed by a famous industry figure, but not just for sidequests, costumes, or things of that nature.
