Respawn Entertainment & Electronic Arts have announced the first DLC for Titanfall. It’s called Expedition and it will be a map pack. It’s scheduled to be released in May and comes with 3 new maps, Swamplands, Runoff, & Wargames.
The story of Expedition sees IMC Expeditionary Forces looking to recover from their loss at the Battle of Demeter. They set up a new base on an unknown world, but their drainage operations unearth ancient ruins & artifacts. Spyglass sends out a team to investigate this discovery. Meanwhile, IMC Pilots train to stay ready for any battles that may occur utilizing simulation pods to do so.
Expedition will be 1 of 3 content packs for Titanfall. Each can be purchased for $9.99 or you can purchase the Season Pass for $24.99 and receive all 3 as they become available.
Amy Henning, who formerly was employed with Naughty Dog and worked as a Writer and Creative Director for the Uncharted series has joined EA’s Visceral Games studio as Creative Director for their untitled Star Wars game. You may remember that when Ms. Henning left Naughty Dog, it was fairly controversial with some saying she was forced out of the company. But she appears to have landed on her feet with a similar job for arguably an even bigger franchise (Star Wars has over 30 years of history and encompasses all forms of media & entertainment). According to Steve Papoutsis, Vice President And General Manager at Visceral Games, Ms. Henning is a big fan of Star Wars and both were excited about the prospects of working together on the project. Not a whole lot is known about the game just yet, but given Visceral’s track record and with Ms. Henning on board, it’s possible great things will come out of the partnership. Perhaps we’ll find out more at E3.

In news that will likely make some PC owners happy, Maxis & EA have finally updated SimCity to have the ability to play offline. This update comes over a full year since the original release of the game (which if you recall require a constant Internet connection to be able to play). The patch notes for this update are as follows:
SimCity Single-Player Mode
- Enables Offline Play.
- Single-Player Mode includes multi-city play, regional interdependence, and city specialization. Regions are saved locally and there is no limit on number of save games.
- Autosave can be disabled in Single-Player Mode in order for players to experiment and load their regions at a previous save point.
- Save As a copy feature. Players can make copies of their regions at multiple save points.
- Optimizations in the simulator to improve performance of both Multiplayer and Single-Player Mode.
- Friends Search now uses the Origin friend search.
