Nintendo Is Okay With Castaway Paradise Despite Similarities To Animal Crossing

Castaway Paradise is a life simulation game for iOS devices and given how the gameplay and look of the game is similar to Animal Crossing, some have wondered how Nintendo feels regarding the game’s existence and whether or not they would take action against the developers. In a statement to Eurogamer, developer Stolen Couch Games said:

“Some people are concerned of Nintendo’s opinion of our game. All I can say it that we’ve been talking to Nintendo for years. We’ve showed Castaway Paradise to them and everything is fine. We’re even considering bringing Castaway Paradise to the Wii U. There are many differences between the before mentioned games and Castaway Paradise.”

So it seems Nintendo is okay with the game despite it being a lot like their own Animal Crossing series. I guess Nintendo doesn’t consider it similar enough to warrant action against Stolen Couch Games. After all, one could argue that Nintendo borrowed some ideas themselves from The Sims which was released before the first Animal Crossing game.

Civilization Revolution 2 (AND & iOS) – Artwork, Screenshots, & First Details

2K Games has announced a sequel to 2008’s Civilization Revolution, which will be appropriately titled Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2. Unlike the previous game however, the sequel will (thus far) only be coming to Android & iOS devices, so those of you who played the original on your console or portable will either be out of luck or will have to settle for playing it on a mobile device.

It’s scheduled to be released on July 2nd for iOS devices as a “premium title” and has been developed for mobile platforms only according to 2K. They went on to say that have designed the controls and user interface to be user-friendly for touchscreen devices. The original 16 leaders from the first game will be included in Civilization Revolution 2 as well as new ones like Winston Churchill & John F. Kennedy.
