Random Game Facts – The Nintendo 2600?

nintendo avs fact 300x300 Random Game Facts The Nintendo 2600?

Well this is interesting. Just think how different the video game industry might be today had Nintendo gone through with the AVS. It’s similarities to the Atari platforms and the like which were prevalent pre-NES are fairly obvious. It wouldn’t be much of a stretch to say that this could’ve been a colossal failure had it been released. Especially when you consider that retailers were skittish to carry even the NES, which was quite different from the 70s and early 80s consoles, because of the 1983 crash. Had Nintendo released the AVS instead of the NES, it’s quite possible the industry as we know it today would either not exist or it would be vastly different. The decision to scrap the AVS and go with the NES instead likely was oe of the major reasons for the video game industry being saved and the end of the 1983 crash.
